The second piece is a choral and orchestral setting of poems for
1. Afternoon - (this is complete)
2. Evening
3. Night
4. Morning Sunrise
It is a sort of choral symphony scored for conventional full orchestra and SATB choir.


Written in February 2024 'Swan Creek' is a new partsong
based on the tune I wrote for the Concertino (below), a setting of a poem by Williston Fish.

Written between January and February 2024 'Concertino for Cor Anglais, Marimba and Strings' is a new light orchestral work
It is in a single movement with several contrasting sections finishing with a rumba!
The slow movement is based on a tune that I intend as a setting of a poem by Williston Fish, called Swan Creek.

Background to the Requiem


Salient Biographical Details :

Geoff graduated from Royal Holloway College, London University with a degree in Physics.
However he probably spent more time in the Music department as a tenor in the Chapel Choir,
Savoy Opera Society and various orchestras as a Violist. Later he also played Double Bass in the Mid Somerset Orchestra and various Jazz Groups
He has continued his choral interests in Somerset and Dorset over the last 40 years as Decani Alto in Sherborne Abbey Choir
and as soloist, occasional MD and Director for Milborne Port Opera and MD of Myllburne Camerata.
He has sung with many other choirs in the South West.
He is a published choral composer and made a living before retirement as a Software and Systems Architect.
